Halloween At The Carousel

Every Halloween our church rents the Carousel in Riverfront Park, downtown Spokane. We've been spending Halloween at the Carousel for 7 or 8 years now. Just a bunch of friends, some good clean fun on the horsies, and everybody leaves with a big bag of candy. This was Ming's first year and she went as...well, a little Chinese girl in traditional garb. And boy, was she cute. Titus decided to come along at the last minute because on the way to the Carousel we stopped by his dorm for a quick trick-or-treat experience with a handful of his dorm homies.

Heloise had fun on the ponies.

And So Yun was quick with a smile too.

Go Tigers!

It was a chilly, frosty morning at Joe Albi stadium where Levi played his last game of the season this morning. Ming Mei enjoyed a warm snuggle on Mommy's lap while she watched Levi and the rest of his Tigers teammates trounce the Mt. Spokane Wildcats 32-8. Levi saw action on both offense and defense, while also performing as the ever-steady holder for point-after-attempts. He's black number 76 in the photos. What a great football morning!

Brunch At The U

After Levi's football game this morning, we met Titus at Gonzaga University for another yummy Saturday morning brunch on campus. Ming likes skipping through the cafeteria like she owns the joint. The rest of us just like the scrambled eggs. And of course, it's always fun to catch up with Titus on his school activities.

Fall Fun

It was a beautiful Autumn day in Spokane, so Levi and Ming spent some time messing around outside. Levi grabbed the camera and took a couple of shots of Ming. Nice job, L-Dawg.

For The Love of Mother

Here's what you have to live with when your little girl loves you so much that she doensn't want you to be anywhere without her...Linda can't even have a quiet, private moment in the bathroom without Ming camping just outside the door hollering "Mama!"

Zagmania!

This morning Ming, Levi and I went to Gonzaga University to visit Titus. He took us to a late brunchy-kinda-breakfast in the school cafeteria, The COG. The eggs were great, the coffee was Seattle's Best, the chicken teriyaki was yummy, and Ming and Levi pigged out on the tater-tots. After our meal, we checked out the bookstore where Ming made fast friends with the (fake) bulldog mascot. Makes a guy wanna be in college again...

The Show Girl

Ming came into my room tonight and donned my 'yard work' hat. I had worn it in the house recently and left it on my desk. Then she started playing with my guitar. Not sure where she learned this look because I never play the guitar in that hat. I guess she's just a natural show girl. Move over Joan Baez.

Ming's Muscles

She starts her workouts with these little 3lb. dumbells, then works her way up to the big iron. She sees her Mommy do this, so she knows just how it's done.

The Routine

Talk to any Mommy about parenting and you'll quickly learn that when it comes to babies and children, having good routines is the key to balance and bliss. One of Ming's morning routines is to wake up, play in her crib for a bit, finally get retrieved by one of the parents, get changed into a fresh diaper, and then get plopped in front of the morning cartoons in Mom and Dad's room while Mommy gets ready for her day. Ming Mei always has Cheerios out of her wooden cup from Haiti, and she almost always has 'pinky bear' with her. Ahhh...we're in our grove today.

My Girls (and Guy)

The sun shined down on Spokane today - a beautiful Autumn footbal day. L-Dawg (Levi, that is) had a game today at Hart Field. His two biggest fans, Mommy and Ming, rooted him to victory. Well, Ming mostly ate chips and checked out people in the stands. The fighting Tigers won 30 to zip (oddly, this has been the score in the last three games.)
There's Levi right there in the three point stance in black - Number 76, offensive tackle. Go L-Dawg!!

Minty Fresh Ming

I have this little tin of breath mints that I keep in my home office. One day Ming discovered them so I gave her one. She immediately gobbled it up and asked for more. Each day, several times a day, she comes into my room and flashes a charming smile while asking for a 'mah.' It's everything I can do to say 'no' after she has had too many already. I've quit eating them so they last longer and our game endures.

Good Night Daddy

After a bath and a little hair clipping from Mommy, Ming came to my office/music room for a hug and a big goodnight kiss for Daddy. The last couple of days she has really been in a terrific mood. Not that she's in a bad mood too often, but for whatever reason she has been a happy little girl. She's doing lots of talking, although most of it is still jibber-jabber to us. As far as she's concerned, though, she's doing some serious communicating.
