Ming Mei is in Montana this weekend with Daddy (along with Levi and Grandma S). She just had to "touch the river," so I memorialized the moment with a photo from my phone camera. No the best photo, but a fun moment. After the touch, she fed rocks to the river. :-)

Levi's 14th B-Day

The L-Dawg has his 14th on the 16th - he's just a hair shy of being a St. Patty's day boy. We celebrated a first-of-two party at Grandma S's house last night. And yes, those are cupcakes, white-on-white, with double-decker frosting. Thank you, Levi, for letting me serve you with the world's best cupcakes.

My Season of Cupcakes

Lately I've been in my cupcake groove - not very manly, I suppose, but who (WHO, I say) can turn down a yummy cupcake? Our family is steeped in the rich tradition of chocolate cake. Not me--I'm a whitey through and through--but Linda requires choco on choco for her decadent pleasures. So just for fun, and perhaps a bit of rebellousness, I recently made white cupcakes with vanilla frosting. They were souped up with some colorful 'funfetti' chunks in both the cake and frosting. Titus boldly declared that they were "the best cupcakes I've ever had." That, of course, had me baking again a day later. And once again tonight I whipped up a batch.

Catching Up!

I've had a long layoff, I know. Just got out of my groove, I guess. This will be the first of several post where I try to do some catching up. These shots are in Arizona where we spent 5 days enjoying sunshine. Ming Mei loved time in the pool...we couldn't hardly get her out.
